Film: Early reviews of the upcoming film United 93 are beginning to trickle in. Mary Katherine Ham posted one such review at Hugh Hewitt’s site. “I’m not gonna lie. It wasn’t easy to watch. But I’m glad I watched it.”
Military: Canada suffered its worst military tragedy since the Korean War, losing four soldiers in a bomb explosion in Afghanistan.
Politics: The Washington Post reports on the age-old American battle plan for the invasion of Canada. I’ve got a hunch that it would be executed successfully.
Emergent: Vikupedia shares the definition and etymology of a new term, “Emergingent Churchmentsation.”

Tim,
I always thought that the U.S. already invaded Canada and deposited the best that television and ecclesiology has to offer (Joel Osteen; South Park; Desperate Housewives; American Idol; Emergent, Brian McLaren, etc.) so as to control the thoughts and conversations of unsuspecting Canucks.
My history books (slightly edited and revised for brevity) tell me that this U.S. invasion began before the world suffered from mass media when in a moment of stark-raving lunacy the Canadians failed to defend the U.S. land-grab of both North Dakota and Montana. This was a followed a few years later when the Canadians failed to defend the Stanley Cup.
Of course, Canada took immediate revenge by inflicting Vermont on the U.S. This brought about an underground guerilla warfare campaign that sent Mike Myers, Bob & Doug McKenzie and Red Green to the U.S. These great freedom fighters, along with trainloads of Molson have helped induce stupefied U.S. college students into committing embarrassing actions that will haunt and blackmail them should they ever run for high political office or try to get married.
The ongoing underground warfare has also involved U.S. attempts to steal Wayne Gretzky and all of hockey by planting it in such puck-loving places as Florida, Phoenix, Los Angeles and San Jose. Fortunately the fallout from these acts of U.S. terrorism, have yet to affect the average Canadian. But they may have directly led to the excess and empty hype often heard about U.S Winter Olympic teams who for the past four years have been unable to find clothes except in Canadian stores.
Thanks for letting me comment, I enjoy your blog and your thoughts from a small island in the tropics.
Blessings and much grace to you,
Mike
