A La Carte (10/6)
It’s busy times here in the Challies home. I have received my manuscript from my editor which (presumably) means that I have a lot of work to do in the coming weeks. I haven’t actually looked at it yet since I’ve been busy with other things. But as of a few minutes from now, I’ll be cracking open that manuscript and I’ll be getting to work on making improvements to The Next Story. It’s still on track for an April release. Also, we recently firmed up the cover for the new book. You can see it by clicking here.
Q&A With Piper - Christianity Today has a Q&A with John Piper. “He spoke with Christianity Today about his new book, Think, his invitation to Warren, and what he has been doing during his leave of absence.”
How to Provoke Your Children - John MacArthur: “Parents provoke their children to wrath by various means too. Over my years as a pastor, I have observed many different ways parents have done this. Avoid all of them. Here are just a few examples…”
Hamilton on Christianity Today on Mohler - Jim Hamilton responds to CT’s article on Dr. Mohler. “If I ever write a piece like this one, I hope someone will care enough about me to tell me that I owe an apology to those I've treated as I wouldn't want to be treated. I would also want new editors. Give me editors who care enough about the quality of my presentation to point out my blind spots and who refuse to allow me to flaunt my logical and rhetorical fallacies.”
Isaiah’s Story - A stirring adoption story. (HT:T4A)
We fail in our duty to study God's Word not so much because it is difficult to understand, not so much because it is dull and boring, but because it is work. Our problem is not a lack of intelligence or a lack of passion. Our problem is that we are lazy. —R.C. Sproul
