Du Jour: John Piper apologizes and discusses profanity.

Music: This is a great price on guitar music (free!).

Abortion: Paul discusses amniocentesis and its relationship to abortion.

Church: Here are the fifty most influential Christians in America. Stop and think for a minute about how many you would want to have as your pastor!

Prayer: Al Mohler has been released from hospital. Praise God!

Environment: A columnist at the Toronto Sun takes on Kyoto. “Why do you support a bizarre United Nations treaty that is mainly concerned with transferring billions of dollars from the First World (i.e. us) to the Third World over a period of decades, without any guarantees this will lower the man-made greenhouse gas emissions you say are the main cause of global warming?”

Here’s the key phrase under Osteen, “Pastor Osteen has a gift for reaching unchurched people with his message of positive thought and God’s plan for our lives.”

He’s making unchurched people churched, negative thinkers positive thinkers and wanderers plan followers. Nothing said about sinners becoming repenters or children of darkness children of light.

At least 2 or 3 on the list this year are worthy of being honored. It’s a shame they’re way down the list though.

Well, the “50 Most Influential” does say “influential,” and not “50 most theologically astute,” which of course explains why a number of the individuals are on there…
