Upcoming Book Releases
Yesterday I did a big update to Discerning Reader’s list of forthcoming book releases. Click to see new books from Bridges, Driscoll, Ware, Mohler, MacArthur, Cosby (?), Piper, Piper, Piper and Piper and many more. There’s even a new study Bible from the Osteens!
Turn Cheap Steak Into Choice Cuts
A friend sent this to me yesterday. It seems to good to be true, but I’m going to have to give it a shot anyways.
Are We Too Afraid of Touch?
“We are all so terrified of child sexual abuse that we have outlawed taking photographs of children at nursery school without parental consent. And adults are terrified that their motives will be suspected if they talk to a child or, even worse, hug one.”
A Musical Against Prop 8
Dennis Prager writes a measured response to that musical against Proposition 8. The musical, he says, “takes only three minutes to reveal the ignorance and hate that pervades so much anti-Proposition 8 activism.”
Deal of the Day: 365 Days With Calvin
Reformation Heritage Books is offering this brand new title from Joel Beeke at the lowest price you’ll find. It is a daily devotional, featuring “a unique collection of 365 readings from the writings of John Calvin, selected and edited by Joel R Beeke.”

Kind of. It’s a long and confusing story.
I skimmed your list, and perhaps I missed it, but in February, MacArthur is coming out with Right Thinking in a World Gone Wrong.
Book I’m most intrigued by:Baucham, VoddieWhat He Must Be: …If He Wants to Marry My Daughter (Crossway)Me too, in fact I admit a title like that concerns me. It’s all very well to have aspirations and desires for who your child will marry, but there can’t be any guarantees unless you arrange it for them! I should probably wait to read the book, but that title (“What he must be”) plus being slightly familiar with some of Baucham’s more extreme views gives me the shudders.
What a disappointing upcoming book publishing schedule.Nothing I might be interested in except - for research purposes - the Deconstructing Theodicy (Brazos Pr). The rest look to be safe and predictable. I suppose this reflects the less academic reading tastes of perspective review readers rather than the true schedules’ content.
Note: It should be “Roger” Olson (the Arminian) not “Rodney,” that has written an extended paean to The Shack (April, IVP).
