I wonder if you've missed the point in your article on asking for forgiveness. Each time you used the word "forgiveness" or "forgive" in the article, you could easily have used the word "confession" or "confess". In this case its only a matter of semantics and no point is necessary. I think you and Giglio probably agree. If not then what happened at the cross? If you do not ask for forgiveness or so much time has passed that you do not remember each of your sins will God not forgive you? Is there a general prayer that simply covers all past sins that have been committed since you last asked for forgiveness? Is it simply a repentant attitude or heart?
