Weird: Here is a story about a California pastor who somehow managed to steal and sell an entire church.
Preaching: Tim Ellsworth shares some layman's advice for preachers.
People: Dr. Bruce Metzger has died. Dr. Haykin reflects briefly on this theologian and Bible scholar.

Tim Ellsworth's list is interesting.
I like most of what he had to say.
I disagree with him in that I always appreciate learning about the original languages. I've never heard any sermon where that comes across as arrogant.
Also, I've heard great sermons delivered by preachers who read their sermons. Personally, I don't think I could deliver an address that way, but some people have the ability to.
Tim, thanks for the link to the interesting NY Times article. I say, what a blessing...may the Lord raise up more such intelligent Christian scientists.
The comments to the pastor stealing his church article are exhausting and depressing. They are so irrational. Why is it so hard to recognise sinners exist in any context instead of blame the sin on God?
