A La Carte (3/21)

Weird: Animal rights activists in Germany want to kill a baby bear rather than have him "brought up suffering the humiliation of being treated as a domestic pet."

Church: Trevin Wax asks some good and interesting questions about multi-site churches.

Humor: Cute. And funny.

Debate: Al Gore has been challenged to a debate. I've got a shiny nickel that says he won't accept the challenge because that would be to admit that some people disagree with him.

Film: The Nativity Story is now available on DVD. Christianity Today discusses why it flopped.

Iraq: An interesting perspective on the Kurdish portion of Iraq.

Du Jour: Mark Dever reflects on two painful lessons.

Books: The New Attitude blog has a good article on how to recommend books without ruining souls.

Humor: Maybe sheep aren't as dumb as we thought.

Fascinating article on "The Nativity."

Does anyone else shudder when they read that New Line is frustrated with the failed efforts to market the movie "through churches," and that Mel Gibson did a much better job flying about speaking "in churches" to market his movie? Does anyone else want to scream at the Hollywood bigwigs, "We're not here to market your product to the sheep?" Or has the church decided it's wiser to ride the coat tails of Hollywood to a wider market share?

I sure wish Al Gore would debate. It would be fun to see him stammer and stutter as real hard evidence is presented and he can't come up with a clear rebuttal. A different scene than the Academy Awards with celebrities fawning all over him, clutching their award bags with carbon coupons in hand.

Just curious, Tim, do you believe that global warming is occurring? Why or why not?

I think the bear would be just as happy as a pet considering he'd probably get spoiled...

Nothing at all, Tim?
