I’ve heard of the purity balls - but am more familiar with the Princess and the Kiss book & resource. We’ve featured it before on Revive Our Hearts

Sadly, Mary Zeiss Stange (professor of women’s studies and religion at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) doesn’t think too highly of them - here is part of her concluding thoughts from this recent USA Today article.

…the assumption that the father is the Lord’s stand-in in the household is as dangerous as is the idea that his “undefiled” daughter is a princess.

Our local CareNet pregnancy center holds one every year. It’s fairly well attended and seems to make a big impression on those attending.

Those purity things creep me out and they also creep out my very chaste daughter. Yuckk!

Love your children. Establish a good relationship with them and you won’t need such shallow artifices. Nor will she. Really!
