OUR STORY was definitely worth while, especially because they were convinced that God was blessing them for their benefit, so they could live the high-life. Amazing how when he finally achieved his dream, depression crept in.
It wasn’t until the idol was destroyed that he found true life and hope.
I like the story because it illustrates the destruction of a stronghold in a believer’s life. Strongholds are those worldviews, philosophies and ways-of-life we cling to, but are - in reality - exalted against the knowledge of God.
Hey Tim, is there a super secret FOB handshake that’s required to get to the Zondervan stuff? Maybe I just need more coffee…
Tim,
Like John, I couldn’t figure how to navigate to the Zondervan stuff. I assumed from your posting that the Blog was the key, but it doesn’t appear that it is.
Thanks
Agreed. This is a true success story. What makes this testimony so viable and endearing is thatthey’ve allowed God to take them all the way to the end of themselves, and in that breaking process, they experienced true brokenness. Their contrite hearts are evidence of a deep work of the Holy Spirit, Who shifts the paradigms.
They have truly seen and tasted that the Lord is good, and they now know that nothing else can compare.
