I appreciate the link to Mahaney’s post. How encouraging to see I’m not the only one who loves to read but can’t remember much. It’s also the reason I read with pen in hand, then I can go back and refresh my memory of the most important parts in a book.
I aim to understand everything I read, not skipping a single paragraph with the thought ‘I’ll come back to that’.
The struggles to understand everything really gets it into your brain.
Everyone’s different, I find applying more diligent attention and concentration to what I’m reading helps retention.
I agree with Audrey, the Mahaney was great and really encouraging. I also agree with James, attention and concetration help greatly with retention. Well said James.
