A La Carte (6/19)

Culture: Dr. Mohler says that greeting cards are a barometer of social breakdown.

Atheism: This article discusses slim portable gift books for atheists. “If atheism’s going mass, after all, you need not just a sacred text but an easily portable one.”

Entertainment: I found this article strangely fascinating. It describes Chinese “gold farmers” who spend their lives playing video games so they can sell (for real money) the things they win in the games.

Music: I noted this in a review of an new album: “Note: Be aware that there are two version of “Indiana” available. The original mainstream release includes the song ‘Amelia’s Missing’ which contains the line, ‘How in the hell am I supposed to find the one that I love?’ The Christian market release replaces that track with the ballad ‘Proud Father…’” Does this not strike anyone else as weird?

Yes, I find that fact in the Jon McLaughlin album review very weird. Ah, the joy (tongue in cheek) of that dichotomy.
