Back From Mars Nathan Williams, who writes for Pulpit Magazine, recently went to Mars Hill Bible Church in Grand Rapids and is writing about his experience.

He dove in thigh-high water and dislocated both shoulders, but even worse, gave himself whiplash so severe that it was the equivalent of breaking his neck. It is indeed true that the pen isn't mightier than the sword . That is if what is written does not move one to action that is concrete. If someone breaks into my home and threatens my wife and children , the last thing in my mind would be to use words to stop the aggressor , he would be met with as much deadly force as I could muster. I have always contended that there is "good" violence , because lets face it, war is hell but dictators , terrorist etc.. need the sword at times to prevent the horrible evil they bring on the innocent. That is why the government is given the sword and should restrain evil whenever it can . Mens hearts are depraved and capable of horrible evil and we also need to preach the gospel of Christ but God also uses powers that be to restrain evil and if good men do not act , then God help us all.
