Culture: Dr. Mohler sounds an important warning about “Screen Kids” and a whole generation of children being raised by their electronic devices.

Tim,
I couldn’t help but laugh at Al Mohler’s article on “Screen Kids”. I happened across a YouTube video this morning of a child using an iPhone with ease. Of course, the Mac audience is touting this video as proof that the iPhone UI is so easy a child understands it, but I couldn’t help but think of Al Mohler’s article while watching this video.

One thing I couldn’t help but disagree with… is the assumption “paper-time” is more important than “screen-time”. How are books better in paper than on screen? My prediction: within 5 years most major publishers will be investing most of their resources into taking books into the 21st century by creating interactive eBooks (with music, animated pictures, etc). These books will be made available via iTunes for purchase and readable on reader hardware produced by companies like Apple. My name prediction - the “iBook”. This gives explanation to Apples discontinued manufacturing of the iBook as of last year. Whose with me on this?
