Evangelicals and Atheists Together - Phil Johnson: “Last month several regular contributors over at the BioLogos blog wrote a series of posts exploring the question How Should BioLogos Respond to Dr. Albert Mohler’s Critique? … Evidently, the gentlemen at BioLogos have finally settled on their best strategy for replying to Dr. Mohler: Publish something at the Huffington Post accusing Dr. Mohler of dishonesty.”

Tell Us Your Stories - Collin Hansen asks older Christians to serve the younger ones by telling their stories. “Your stories give us the perspective we haven't yet gained with experience. We don't yet understand how much we don't know. Our youthful bluster masks insecurity. We stand tall against withering attacks from our peers, but we've hardly been tested..”

The post by Collin was good. Teaching our youth is more than just having a good youth program. It’s about mentoring. its about the old taking the young under their wings and showing them what a life well-lived under Christ looks like.

I was reading Evangelicals and Atheists together and although I would think the person at BioLogos went way too far in saying that Mohler lied. However, I think there might be a possibility that Mohler was not clear enough when he stated what he did. When we make statements without explaining them; others can get the impression that we are either misinformed or lieing.Unfortunately I have done this myself in the past. I have said things that were very factual, however I forgot to say the sense that I was talking about. In my case, another Christian misunderstood me and jumped all over me.Although my line of reasoning was correct, by my failing to explain the sense I was talking about; I became subject to others understanding of what I was trying to say.

I have two questions for people who actually know what was in Dr. Mohler’s critique. Was Dr. Mohler clear that what he was referring to is that Darwin held to a liberal understanding of the issue before he became an evolutionist? Also, is there proof that Darwin did indeed hold to a liberal understanding of this issue, before he became an evolutionist?

I finished watching the Mohler video and I must say that he was not completely clear on what he said about Darwin. It might have been ok for the person at Biologos to have challenged what Mohler said concerning Darwin, but he went way too far in stating that Mohler doesn’t care about truth.Even if Mohler is in error about Darwin (not completely sure), it was a very minor point and doesn’t not decimate what he had to say on the topic as a whole.

Mohler is correct that excepting an old earth model, despite the various old earth creation views, takes away from other doctrines such as the fall…He also stated that evolutionists arguments are like an acid that eventually destroys everything it touches. This is something that all views except the 6/24 hour day view seem to forget. Creationists who hold to the view that the earth could be old, or is old don’t seem to realize that although what they believe seems to fit with a lot of evolutionary claims. Never the less, the only difference between those who believe in a 6/24 hour day and them is that the lines of differences are more clearly defined between those who believe in a 6/24 hour day and evolutionists. In other words, by interpreting Scripture to fit science (theory), they might look a little bit less of a fool to an evolutionist, but not much.Let God be true and everyman a liar.
