Directory of Reformed Conferences
I believe in the value of good conferences. Though short-lived, conferences can be a wonderful time of growth, challenge and refreshment. I have been privileged to attend many such conferences in recent years and hope to attend many more in the years to come. As a service to the Christian community, I’ve decided to create a list of conferences that are either offered by Reformed ministries or are of particular interest to Reformed Christians. I draw that line simply to maintain a list that is manageable. You would not believe just how many conferences there are in the wider Evangelical world!
This is a living document that will be frequently updated. I will attempt to note in the A La Carte section of this site when I make major updates to it.
If you would like to suggest a conference to add to the list, please contact me with the appropriate information.

Thanks Tim, This is a useful list. It would be nice to see some conferences in Canada. I don’t know of any at the moment (except for John Piper’s Desiring God conference in Montreal, October 12-14 2006) but I’ll keep my eyes and ears open.

Georges - There are the Sola Scriptura conferences as well. I’ll add those when they announce next year’s list.

I find it interesting you would include the Shepherds’ Conference at Grace Community—while the conference is outstanding, I don’t believe they would categorize it as a REFORMED conference (I speak as a longtime attender there).

Plus, just because they don’t call it Reformed, that doesn’t change the fact that all the speakers are thoroughly Reformed.

You know that game “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” where you have to trace any actor or actress back to Kevin Bacon in six films or less? I was thinking we could play “One Degree of John Piper” where you’d trace any Christian theologian to John Piper in one conference or less…

Oh….. bitter disappointment! Houston is NEVER on a list like this. No reformed conferences , churches , or people of any kind.(sigh) I guess you really don’t need them when you have Joel Osteen.

“Is Beth Moore reformed in her theology?”
In a word, no. She’s not the worst of the popular preachers (and especially female preachers) but she’s definitely not Reformed. She has a lot of mystic in her. You can look her up on Discerning Reader and read a book review or two.

I am familiar with some of her teachings, as well as her ties to the likes of Neil Anderson (Bondage Breaker), etc.
My question was one more of shock than anything else when I saw her mentioned above…as I would have never put her in the reformed camp from the little I knew.
I can tell you this…SBC churches absolutely love using her materials for ‘discipleship’ classes.

While I wouldn’t choose Beth Moore to be my teacher in anything…if I had to choose, she certainly would be better than Joel.

Thanks Eric but that is still a 2 hour drive for me. I’m a bit north of Houston and Jim Hamilton is on the south end of Houston. I checked out his website and it looks like he has a great church maybe I’ll get desperate enough to make the trip one of these days. I don’t think I will ever get desperate enough to see Beth Moore(I do admire her fiery personality though!)

There is a great church an hour North of Houston that would be worth the drive. The church is Lakeside Bible Church next to Lake Conroe.
