A Prayer Request

If you have been visiting this site for any length of time, you may know of Jeri who posted in the forums and before the forum was installed, posted many comments here. She became a friend and I benefited greatly from her wisdom. She even gave blogging a try at her site called Sober Minded and participated in some Blog Swaps, but later elected to stop blogging so she could go back to doing what she really enjoyed, which was reading and posting at other people’s sites.

I received an email from Jeri’s sister this morning telling me that Jeri’s only son, Joe, died last Saturday night. He was only 23 years old. She asked that we pray for Jeri, her husband and their three daughters. She said “Jeri is a strong christian woman as well as a loving mother but she needs God and time and the love of all her christain family and lots of all of the above.” Joe was a believer, so we can rejoice that he has gone to be with his Father.

So let’s lift up Jeri and her family in prayer, that God would provide them the comfort that only He can give. Let’s pray together that God would keep their eyes focused on Him, knowing that nothing happens outside of His control.
