Statistics Canada performed its first-ever survey that looked at sexual orientation. Interestingly (and not-too surprisingly to most Christians) the percentage of people who identify themselves as homosexual was far lower than the gay community would have us believe. While they claim that between 5 and 10 percent of the population is homosexual, this survey found a mere 1 percent of people identified themselves as gay. A further 0.7 percent consider themselves bisexual (which in my books is no different from homosexual). Obviously there is a vast difference between the truth and what the gay community wants us to believe.
Gay activists are claiming, of course, that the survey was flawed. Apparently rather than asking “are you homosexual” they should have asked “are your sexual partners the same sex or the opposite sex.”
There is a great, if somewhat shocking quote, by a Professor of sociology:
When a number is attached to a gay community, ideological battles emerge, said Michael Botnick, a lecturer on sociology at the University of British Columbia.
“Clearly, from a right-wing perspective, they’d like to see the numbers lower,” he said. “From the more libertarian perspective, they’d like to see the numbers more accurate, or higher. So nobody’s going to be satisfied.”
Notice how he has already judged the results to be inaccurate, saying that “the numbers [should be] more accurate, or higher.”
You can read an article about the survey results in the Globe and Mail.

Alot of people cannot come to grips that they are homosexual, or are in the closet and wont tell the truth, even if it is a survey.
Look how many gay people are online from canada, its incredible. Unless the whole 1% is online, i think there are flaws.

I’d have to agree with Dennis, the numbers in which you found must be flawed, those who you asked are probably “out of the closet”. You must take into consideration that there still is people, alot of people not open about there sexual preference.

Actually these numbers bear out in the United States as well. When having to tell the truth, i.e. in congressional hearings or in a courtroom, the numbers are between 1% and 3% in the U.S., even though the number of 10% is still widely pushed. This 10% number is based largely on the flawed Kinsey studies. As the book, The Social Organization of Sex: Sexual Practices in the United States has shown us as late as 1994, through independent studies it has been shown that only 1% - 3% of the world’s population are homosexual. Though, in reality, it matters little whether there are 1% or 10%; It is still a sin in God’s eyes. Numbers, however, help the pro-homosexual to persuade the public and give more “weight” to their argument in the public arena. In any event, Tim, despite what our friends Dennis and Brandon state, I believe your numbers are accurate since they agree with other indpendent studies.

I think Mikbry24 hit it on the head when he states that;
Numbers, however, help the pro-homosexual to persuade the public and give more “weight” to their argument in the public arena.
I suspect the homosexual lobbyists prefer that the numbers were higher as they probably use them to gauge their success in recruitment. I would remind them that the Health Canada survey polled people between the ages of 18-59. Many of the practicing homosexuals in this demographic still realize that they are committing a sin against God and are performing unnatural acts as they pertain to procreation. And as such are too ashamed to admit to their sinfulness.
I would suggest that they not lose heart however, as their target demographic is the gullible teen and pre-teen, publicly educated, single parented, media influenced majority.
The fruits of their despicable labour are just beginning to ripen. In fact, already signs of your success in the deception of our young people that they have no choice in their sexual orientation can be seen in the rush to civic offices where “sham” marriage ceremonies are still, for now, taking place. Give it a few years and the 18-59 survey sample will probably reflect the 10 plus percent that you seek. For by then you will have duped sufficient numbers of our precious youth into thinking that their sinful behavior is natural and God will accept them for ‘who they are’. He, as we, will ALWAYS LOVE you! Some of us may even become accepting of you. God will never accept sin. And you should stop telling them He will.

Correction,
I wrote:
‘Some of us may even become accepting of you.’
I would rather have said;
’ Some of us may even come to accept your sinfulness.’

Bi-sexuality is much different that homosexuality.
FYI - some parts of the bible praise homosexuality.

Hold on Rex/Lex. You can’t just lob up a comment like that without offerring ANY support. Please qualify that statement by providing a reference from the Bible that praises homosexuality. And remember, just because the Bible records a historical event without offering a commentary in condemnation of the activity described doesn’t mean that it is in support.
