As you’ve no doubt noticed by now, I’ve begun to do a bit of advertising through this site. I have added spots for three 125 x 125 banner ads in the right sidebar and have also opened up a bit of space for some text ads. Though I’m somewhat leery of doing this, I explained last week that the time has come, I think, to attempt to monetize the blog just a little bit. I think it offers a good platform for a variety of advertisers and hope to provide advertisements that will serve the readers.
If you are interested in doing some online advertising through this site, I’d be glad to send you the appropriate information. Simply contact me and I’ll send you a rate sheet and other information.

Tim,
The ads look fine and unobtrusive…I hope they bring the desired results for you. I will, however, not benefit since I’ve been reading your blog via RSS for years. I guess I’ll have to click to the site now and then just to see what’s there….keep up the good work brother.
Grace and peace to you, Jeff

Tim,
On a different site this might upset me as an Web surfer who is annoyed by abuses in online advertising. But in your case, it’s okay. ;) Especially since you’re going to ensure the ads will be relevant for your readers. And I’ve no doubt your design and coding skills will keep the impact of the ads on the user experience to a minimum.
You have provided this wonderful blog to all of us free of charge. It is much appreciated.
Here’s hoping you can turn a nice profit! You probably deserve something for all your diligence and hard work.

Don’t be too surprised if you see the occasional ad crop up in RSS as well! ;-)

I have no problems with ads on most any site and I understand the costs of operating online. I often look at ads on sites that I enjoy and trust (like yours). The one thing that will send me running away is a blinking or flashing ad when I’m trying to read something.

I’m with you there. I don’t mind animated files that are like “slides,” meaning they transition from one picture to another. But I can’t stand the ones that make me feel like I’m going to have a seizure. In the information I send advertisers I tell them that I reserve the right to refuse any ad! The last thing I want is for the site to become a burden to read.
