I was poking around a little bit today and found what I consider to be just a great deal. I’m posting for no other reason than to tell you that this represents what I’m sure you’ll agree is the best $4.03 you’ll ever spend. It’s one of my all-time favorites and a book worth reading at least once per year.
If you disagree and are absolutely convinced that another item worth $4.03 would have been a better buy, well, tell me what it is because I don’t believe it’s possible.
That is all.

Thanks for the recommendation. $4.03 is a good price, but I thought Westminster did not ship outside the US. Did I misread their shipping policy or will they ship to Canada anyways?

would it be possible for you to give us a little information on Mr. Leahy? Would you recommend any of his other works? Thanks for the heads up on a great deal.

Oh man, I didn’t even notice that. Shame on them! This is why I end up shipping so much stuff to my family members in the US!

Interesting, I have heard of the book, but have never read it, nor do I know much about it.

I don’t know…their $3.59 price for the ESV Bible might be a better deal for someone…not that the Leahy book isn’t a good deal also.

Amazon sells it for a good price as well. Note: If you spend more than $25.00, shipping free is optional.

I’m not talking about deals for $3.59. I’m specifically talking deals for $4.03.

Greetings, everyone. I’m Mark Traphagen, manager and webmaster for Westminster Bookstore (www.wtsbooks.com). A couple of you asked about our US-only shipping policy, so I wanted to take this opportunity to explain.
Despite the fact that several of our key publishers tell us that we are the fastest growing specifically-Reformed bookstore on the Web, we actually remain a very small store with a small staff. We run “lean and mean” (well, hopefully not too mean!) in order to maintain our low prices and $5 flat-fee UPS shipping for any size order. In addition, we have made a commitment to ship all orders received by 3 pm EDT out our door the same day. This means that customers in the mid-Atlantic US receive their books the next business day, and no one in the US will get their books later than 5 days after the order is received.
In order to maintain that level of service we have regrettably had to forgo international shipping. Even to Canada, such shipping involves a huge amount of labor and expense for customs, insurance, tracking, etc. Back in the day when we did ship internationally, we also found that an unacceptable number of packages became “lost,” involving additional time and expense that we could not afford.
Just as we all do in our own lives, we as a business have to sometimes make difficult choices between “good” and “best.” For now, we have decided to serve our US customers with what we hope is “best” service for them. We would appreciate your prayers for our continued growth so that, among other things, we may one day be able to commit the resources to serve our international friends as well.
In the meantime, I would note that we have a number of outside-the-lower-48 customers who find that our prices and $5 shipping make it worth having us ship to a friend or relative in the US who can then re-ship to them.
If any of Tim’s readers have further questions or suggestions about our store, I invite you to contact me directly at mtraphagen@wtsbooks.com. I would be more than glad to interact with you!

An UPDATE for Westminster Bookstore:
Due to overwhelming response from Tim’s readers, our current orders have entirely cleaned out ours and The Cross He Bore’s publisher’s stocks of this book. We normally carry large quantities of all of our major titles and ship the same day, but this was a “sleeper” for both us and Banner of Truth until Tim’s little comment above!
At this point, we will gladly accept a backorder order from anyone who wants the book, but you should be aware that Banner must obtain more from its UK subsidiary, which could take 1-2 months.

Sad thing that this book is a sleeper - it is perhaps the best thing Banner have produced in the last 10 years.
That and Edward Donnelly’s book on Heaven and Hell - perhaps you could discount it too!
I see you have - So I’d advise Tim’s readers to grab it as well.

“Thank you for your order today. We wanted to let you know that, due to overwhelming and sudden demand for The Cross He Bore, we have temporarily run out of stock, as has the US publisher. This is not typical for us, but the promotion of this book by a prominent blogger yesterday created unprecedented demand.”
Wow - you’ve got some serious marketing potential here! Apparently I may have to wait a month or two to get this little book. :) And you’re not making any money off of blogging?

Well, Carole - and everyone else - the guys at Westminster and all of us here at Banner of Truth are working overtime tonight to reduce that time considerably. We are hoping to have a quantity on a plane in the next 24 hours, so order away! They will be shipped A.S.A.P., I assure you. This was a bit of a fast one that Tim pulled on us all :-) but I am ecstatic to have this “sleeper” get back on the front page again. But then, I can tell you that there are other such “sleepers” here on our shelves at Banner. Hey Tim, I have a GREAT idea! Seriously! You come and camp out right here in our warehouse for a week, or even more, and LIVE BLOG FROM BANNER OF TRUTH! What do you say? I can see it now … “Discovering the Sleepers Week,” at Challies.com, LIVE from Banner of Truth! I’m actually serious … wouldn’t that be great? When can we make it happen!
