"The Discipline of Spiritual Discernment is a truly important work-one that should be required reading not only for church leaders, but for all sober-minded laypeople as well."

John MacArthur (From the Foreword)

"If you were more discerning you’d probably buy this book. If you do read this book, you will be! This book on discernment is simple, clear, well-written and well-illustrated...

The Journey Begins...

This morning we had the privelege of attending the first preview service for The Journey Church in Brampton (Web site design by yours’ truly!). For those who are not familiar with the term, a preview service is a service held approximately once per month for the four or five months preceding the launch of a new church. It is a chance to gather a core group and begin to draw members before a church is ready to launch permanently. Aileen and I were able to lend our skills as nursery worker (Aileen) and sound technician (me).

The Journey is pastored by my good friends Chris and Rod. I respect them so that for several months I wrestled with joining their team, but in the end did not feel God’s clear call to do so. So it was with great excitement that we joined them this morning for their first worship service. They are gathering a solid core group and have already had the privelege of baptising several new Christians into their fellowship. They had good attendance this morning and the service went very smoothly. Several visitors came to check out the church and all-in-all it was a blessed time. I am excited as I anticipate God’s continued blessing in their midst and I look forward to seeing God continue to bless their little church.
