The road to Atlanta seems to be paved with Floridans fleeing the oncoming hurricane. Apparently the hotel my in-laws are staying at is nearly packed full of Floridans (and Canadians down here for the wedding). My dad and I were driving on the I-75 this afternoon and it seemed just about every other car had a Florida license plate. Meanwhile, there are convoys of wood chippers and hydro trucks heading south towards the storm. It’s quite ominous, actually. I guess the storm is expected to hit the coast sometime Saturday. Rumor has it the remnants will be hitting Atlanta Sunday afternoon. We are leaving Sunday morning and hoping to miss out on the heavy rain and high winds.
