Yesterday I had the honor of serving at the Shepherd’s Conference Scholar’s Desk. This is a stand-up desk where experts on various fields are available to answer questions on a given topic. Together with Nathan Busenitz we fielded questions for an hour on the subject of blogging. And it was a lot of fun. Some theological questions arose and I pretty well just deferred to Nathan on these since he is, after all, a PhD candidate who works as John MacArthur’s personal assistant.

We had a good range of questions ranging from the best blogging software for particular blogging applications all the way to the usefulness of blogging for ministry. The questions gave me a lot to think about and at some point I hope to write a whole series about blogging. I’ve also been asked to lead a seminar about blogging and ministry at an upcoming conference and this has given me an idea of the questions and concerns I may want to answer at that time.

Oh, so that’s what Tim the venerated blogger looks like.
Once again, appreciate your commentary on the whole SC experience, takes me back to last year. I’d be interested in your observations on blogging as a ministry, I’ve been trying to do this for the past year or two. First on Xanga with a network of brothers and sisters and friends of my son, now on Blogger.

Tim,
Thanks for your continued faithfulness in serving as you are. I attended the SC last year for the first time. It was LIFE CHANGING! I’m home in New England this year where the temps have been well below zero with the wind chill. One question for you. Are the Pastor dashes as fun this year as last year? Keep up the great job!!

It always helps when you can contact the blog owner, something that is impossible for SFPulpit as far as I can see. I can’t leave comments on their blog and there is no email address to let them know.
Does anyone know of a way of contacting them? Whenever I try to leave a comment it says,
“Error: This file cannot be used on its own.”

Tim, I love the impact that blogs are making for the Kingdom. I am trying to make an impact through SOPHOS, a blog I started to help apply the wisdom of great leaders to life. I would LOVE to hear what you have to say about blogging for the kingdom. I wish I could have walked up to your Scholars Desk and just asked, “How do you increase the impact?”

Hey, has your publisher seen that picture? Seems like it’d be a good one for the dust jacket. :-)
