Free Stuff Fridays
This week’s Free Stuff Friday is all about Bible study for small groups and individuals. This week’s sponsor, The Good Book Company is offering 5 of you a chance to win a collection of all 33 Good Book Guides.

“The format is very user-friendly and the content is rich and accessible.”

—Justin Taylor, author, blogger and and VP of Editorial at Crossway

The folks over at The Good Book Company see their mission this way, “God’s growth process for individuals and churches starts with us clearly hearing God’s voice in Scripture. Therefore, our aim here at The Good Book Company is to produce resources which put the Word of God in the driving seat, helping ordinary believers open up the Bible for themselves. Whatever your age or stage in life, we offer practical, Bible-centered books and resources that will help you and your church family build your lives on the gospel of grace and serve the Lord better day by day.”

Good Book Guides

The missional direction of The Good Book Company directly applies to the purpose of their Good Book Guides:

The aim of these Good Book Guides, as with any profitable Bible study, is to enable us to:

  • understand the meaning of a Bible passage.
  • fit the passage into the ‘big picture’ of God’s total revelation in His Word, so that we can understand what it means for us now, living in the light of Jesus and His gospel.
  • apply what we have learned in depth, to ourselves, individually and as a church, so that we can work towards practical changes in all aspects of our lives.

The range of Bible study guides have authors such as Mark Dever, Tim Chester, and Justin Buzzard among many others. And, coming early 2013, Timothy Keller.

5 winners will be awarded complete sets; however, The Good Book Company is offering to double the amount of winners to 10 if they can achieve 2,000 “likes” on their Facebook page by next Friday.

They are currently offering 55% off any bulk orders of 10 or more of their Good Book Guides, through the end of September. If you’re interested in trying a few you can enter the discount code: chgbg and get 25% off each one, today only.

Giveaway Rules: You may only enter the draw once. Simply fill out your name and email address to enter the draw. As soon as the winners have been chosen, all names and addresses will be immediately and permanently erased. Winners will be notified by email. The giveaway closes Saturday at noon.

    The Path to Contentment

I wonder if you have ever considered that the solution to discontentment almost always seems to be more. If I only had more money I would be content. If I only had more followers, more possessions, more beauty, then at last I would consider myself successful. If only my house was bigger, my influence wider,…

It Begins and Ends with Speaking

Part of the joy of reading biography is having the opportunity to learn about a person who lived before us. An exceptional biography makes us feel as if we have actually come to know its subject, so that we rejoice in that person’s triumphs, grieve over his failures, and weep at his death.
