Lobby Blogging @ T4G (II)

So, this was a long day. It’s about 9 PM as I write this and we’re about 30 minutes away from everything wrapping up for day one of Together for the Gospel. Unfortunately I have to head home tomorrow, so I won’t be here to the end. However, I’ll see if I can find something fun to shoot before I leave.

In the meantime, here are a couple of thoughts about the day along with some random snippets I recorded here and there.

Thanks for the vids Tim! Although, towards the end I almost got a little sick. No Spinning!

2:02-2:05 “If you’re in line now, you will not be in by the start of the conference.”

Hmmm… That seems to be a less than best situation. Shouldn’t they have opened the doors much earlier, or done something so that nobody in line enters the building with the conference having already started?

This conference is named TOGETHER for the Gospel. It would be good to start the conference not just with the speakers together, but with all the attendees together inside.

Can you believe the book giveaway so far, Tim? What a value. And more books tomorrow? That’s a really impressive giveaway.

I took a picture of the books so far for facebook.com: http://www.reggieosborne.com/jesuslaves/images/books.jpgReally awesome stuff.

Quote of the Conference? “I think if Jesus were here he would make a whip and go straight to TBN.” -John MacArthur

Also, Albert Mohler’s quote on the problem with Modern Theology: “Eventually you run out of doctrines to deny.”

Thanks Tim. I’m also here taking in the conference. Great so far. Especially enjoyed Al Mohler’s talk last night and the short panel that followed.

I’ve also got short videos up and a few posts about what’s going on but it’s pretty much all in french!

I had the opportunity to quickly meet your pastor yesterday as he shared dinner with us and a few others in our room.

Enjoy the rest of your stay.

Quote of the Conference? “I think if Jesus were here he would make a whip and go straight to TBN.” -John MacArthur

Interesting, so what of and why did John MacArthur appear on TBN with Kirk Cameron? Certainly that was not taking the whip to TBN; was it? Certainly did not hurt TBN’s viewership either; did it?

This is another example of lip service to the Lord and then woeful inconsistency in practice, which of course will be swept away just like:

Al Mohler and Ligon Duncan signing the Manhattan Declaration and his (Mohler) sitting as chairman for the 2001 Billy Graham crusade. Just like Piper and Mahaney’s non-cessationism, which by the video evidence thus far drew plenty of Charismatics to the conference. Just like Piper’s invite of Rick Warren.

All ignored and swept aside for the sake of unity, but at the expense of fidelity to the Scriptures.

If we are to be like Jesus in this world why then is MacArthur hobnobbing with TBN? Why does Al Mohler and Ligon Duncan give Christian recognition to the “enemies of the cross of Christ?” (Phil. 3:18) Why does Piper invite the extreme ecumenical Rick Warren to speak his perverse things at DG to draw away disciples (Acts 20:30)?

T4G is a sad spectacle of compromise and treason to the Lord Jesus Christ with a forward look to the coming supra-religion of Rev. 17 & 18.

If Jesus were to take a whip to TBN, IMO T4G would have to be His next stop or He’d be remiss in His duty to His own. (Hebrews 12:6).
