Yeah the text sorta ignored rules of engagement. The kid probably knew enough that if anyone threw something at the soldier or fired at him the soldier would shoot back. Otherwise, he’s just walking by.

Uh, a “story that the media seems to be hiding?” The picture is from a NY Times article. How is that “hiding” a story?
Frankly, I think the look of sheer terror on that little boy’s face tells a more pressing story. This is what people in Iraq live with on a daily basis.
