"The Discipline of Spiritual Discernment is a truly important work-one that should be required reading not only for church leaders, but for all sober-minded laypeople as well."

John MacArthur (From the Foreword)

"If you were more discerning you’d probably buy this book. If you do read this book, you will be! This book on discernment is simple, clear, well-written and well-illustrated...

Mark Dever

A La Carte (6/5)

Tuesday June 5, 2007

Cool: How's this for a sand castle? "Officials announced Monday that this year's effort was measured at 49.55 feet before Tropical Storm Barry damaged the structure this weekend."

Blogging: Blogging geeks will be excited to learn that Movabletype 4.0 is now available in beta. It looks pretty well amazing. Jesse reports on why it will rock your blog.

Du Jour: Paul has an excellent article on considering special needs in church. "We need to get over our fears and learn to walk up to families that include a special needs child and welcome them!"

Books: Monergism Books has some good items on sale to help you start your summer right.

Books: Dr. Sam Lamerson shows why it is so hard to get a Christian book published.

Canadiana: This article points to one of Quebec's peculiarities: everyone moves on the same day. All leases expire on July 1 of the year, so everyone moves that day. It's absolute chaos!

Why Movable Type instead of Wordpress? WP seems to have a smaller footprint, not as cpu intensive, and has a wide range of plugins and themes.

On Canadiana: I feel for pets who always end up paying the price for such cavalier behavior on the part of their owners. If you know you're not going to be able to keep and/or properly care for an animal, why in the world would you take on the responsibility in the first place?
