I think that Driscoll article exaggerated wayyyyyyy too much.

Yeah, the author’s distaste for Calvinsim was more than obvious, and completely uninformed. It’s hard to consider that as anything close to objective journalism.

Funny, they lump him in with Olsteen….I wonder if Olsteen would ever let Driscoll preach at his church building? One thing I really like about Driscoll is that he says it like it is, even when it hurts, though he does use language I tend to reserve for when I hit my finger with a hammer, I wonder if we should slip some soap in his bottle of water. Anyways he does an excellent job of preaching the Gospel. Here is his newest book, I can’t wait to read it. Someone want to buy me a late Christmas present? Just kidding, sort of…

I think its natural to be arrogant about calvinism because the belief is arrogant. Despite the human depravity element which is humbling, people still believe God chose to save them in particular, for no particular reason known to them. People would never believe in a God that didn’t save them.

Then they have no reason to be arrogant. It is nothing the person did, it’s entirely grace

On the contrary, they do all the time. Christianity is the only religion where God saves them. All others are various forms of man saving himself through good deeds.

Yeah- grace for them!

-Not faith vs. works. People wouldn’t believe in a God that had grace on others but not them. People wouldn’t believe in a God that chose others for heaven but not themselves.
