Free Stuff Fridays
This week’s Free Stuff Fridays is sponsored by Kress Biblical Resources, a publisher that exists “ to provide solid, biblical resources for those who have set their hearts to study God’s Word, to practice it, and to teach it.” They are offering up five prize packages and each package will consist of the following books:

Pursuit of Prodigals is a helpful little book that serves as a short primer on the importance and practice of church discipline.

For nineteen hundred years, the Church practiced the discipline and restoration of prodigals, but in the last fifty years, it has been replaced by apathy, fear, and tolerance. This brief primer is prayerfully offered as an appeal to return to this distinctive, as well as to instruct and encourage shepherds who are textually bound and not so faint of heart. After all, should we not fear most the day of our accounting before the Chief Shepherd? In Pursuit of Prodigals was written as a call to faithful shepherds and for the edification of the Church.

Again, there are five prize packages to win, so you probably ought to go ahead and enter. If you would like to purchase In Pursuit of Prodigals, you can do so at 25% from Friday until Monday. Click here to take advantage.

Giveaway Rules: You may only enter the draw once. Simply fill out your name and email address to enter the draw. As soon as the winners have been chosen, all names and addresses will be immediately and permanently erased. Winners will be notified by email. The giveaway closes Saturday at noon.

Free Stuff Fridays
This week’s Free Stuff Fridays is sponsored by CBD Reformed, a name you know well by now. As they always do, they are offering 5 prize packages, each of which will consist of the following three products:

  • Jesus + Nothing = EverythingESV Value Thinline Bible - Retail price $14.99

  • Trusting God — Even When Life Hurts by Jerry Bridges - Retail Price $14.99

You will recognize Jesus + Nothing = Everything as a winner of several awards. Here is the publisher’s description:

It’s so easy to forget what the Christian faith is all about. We struggle so much, work so hard, and fail so often that we frequently sense something in the equation of life must be missing. Tullian Tchividjian argues that what we are missing is the gospel—a fuller, more powerful understanding of Jesus and what his finished work means for everyday life.

During a year of great turmoil, Pastor Tchividjian discovered the power of the gospel in his own life. Sharing his story of how Jesus became more real to him, Tchividjian delves deeply into the fundamentals of the faith, explaining the implications of Christ’s sufficiency—a revelation that sets us free and keeps us anchored through life’s storms.

Ultimately, Tchividjian reminds us that Jesus is the whole of the equation as he boldly proclaims that Jesus plus nothing really is everything.

Free Stuff Fridays
This week’s Free Stuff Fridays is sponsored by Reformation Heritage Books, a name that ought to be familiar to you by now. And they are giving away a prize that proved pretty popular the last time they did a similar giveaway. They have 5 prize packages to win, and each package will consist of 8 Journibles.

JournibleWhat are Journibles? Well, they are what happens when you smash a Bible into a journal. “The idea comes from Deuteronomy 17:18, where God commands the kings of Israel to hand-write their own copy of the Torah, or book of the law. The purpose of this was so that they would carry it with them always, read it, learn from it, and lead the people accordingly. It’s interesting to note that 3400 years later, educators have been discovering that most people learn kinesthetically, by doing or writing things out for themselves. As you open the book, you will see chapter and verse numbers on the right-hand pages. These are conveniently spaced according to the length of each verse. However, these pre-formatted lines are left blank for you to hand-write your Journible book of yourself.”

It’s kind of a neat idea, really. As you read the Bible, you get to write it out on your own—a great way of enhancing understanding and retention, and you also get to take your own notes. Pretty cool, eh?

So far there are currently 15 in the series and the winners will each receive 8 of them.

If you want to get a better idea of the format, click here to see a sample page from Galatians. Or you can visit the official Journibles site.

Giveaway Rules: You may only enter the draw once. Simply fill out your name and email address to enter the draw. As soon as the winners have been chosen, all names and addresses will be immediately and permanently erased. Winners will be notified by email. The giveaway closes Saturday at noon.

He looks back at the history of this shift and discusses its implications for culture today, especially its bearing on democracy, discussions about good and evil, and Christian truth claims.” You can read my review here.

Free Stuff Fridays
This week’s Free Stuff Fridays is sponsored by Frontline Missions. This is an amazing ministry that produces the Dispatches from the Front DVD series—a series I love. Here is what the ministry is all about:

Frontline’s key objective is to advance the Gospel, forming vibrant, Word-centered, disciple-making churches, especially in those regions of the world that have the least Light. We are driven by the same desire that animated the apostle Paul who said it was always his ambition to preach the Gospel where Christ was not known (Romans 15:20). We pursue this goal by equipping Christians on the frontlines to reach their own people for Christ, by forming strategic partnerships with them, and by developing creative platforms in countries closed to traditional missions.

DispatchesToday they are giving away 5 sets of three of their DVDs. Each of 5 winners will receive:

  • Father Give Me Bread
  • Souls of the Brave
  • I Once Was Blind

Each one of these videos will take you to a different part of the world. You will follow Tim Keesee as he examines the state of the church and assesses the need for more mission, more churches, more Christians. These videos are appropriate for the whole family and are ideal for watching and then loaning to others, or watching and then donating to your church library. I guarantee they will be a blessing to you.

Here is the trailer for the most recent episode:

Finally, here’s a word from John Piper on these videos:

Beware of watching these “Dispatches” if you don’t like being moved and inspired and shaken out of the ruts of your life. My wife and I were riveted in watching the frontline reports of God’s work recorded in the Dispatches from the Front. This is the sort of information that builds faith in the present providence of God over his mission, and stirs up action for the sake of lost and hurting people near and far. I would love to see thousands of people mobilized as senders and goers for the sake of the glory of Christ and the relief of suffering on the frontiers, especially eternal suffering.

This week’s Free Stuff Fridays is sponsored by Granted Ministries. There will be four winners this week, and each of them will receive the following prize package which carries a prayer kind of theme.

  • In Light of EternityIn Light of Eternity: The Life of Leonard Ravenhill by Mack Tomlinson
  • Valuable Selections from the Writings of George Muller
  • 2 copies of The Hidden Life of Prayer and The Prayer-Life of Our Lord by D.M. M’Intyre (the book we are going through in Reading Classics Together)
  • Audio Sermon: “Seeking God” by Bob Jennings
  • 1 Coupon for 20% off any future order

Here is a word on Leonard Ravenhill, the subject of Mack Tomlinson’s biography: “Leonard Ravenhill was a man who was centered on prayer. His wife once told Keith Green that Leonard regularly spent eight hours a day in prayer. This inward passion for God caused an outward cry for truth and holiness. He preached with a passion for revival all over the world, but especially in the United States. He had a burden that the American “church” not remain lukewarm. He longed to see a mighty move of God in his day, and this passion came out in his preaching.” (My Review)

Giveaway Rules: You may only enter the draw once. Simply fill out your name and email address to enter the draw. As soon as the winners have been chosen, all names and addresses will be immediately and permanently erased. Winners will be notified by email. The giveaway closes Saturday at noon.
