Edgar’s, the namesake of Southern Seminary founder E.Y. Free Stuff Fridays
This week’s Free Stuff Friday is sponsored by P&R Publications. They are offering up five prize packages, each of which will contain 21 different titles—a brand new book and two series of booklets. Each of the five winners will receive:

Gospel TreasonResources for Biblical Living is a series of excellent 32-page booklets, the kind of booklets you want to read yourself and then keep on-hand to give away. They address issues such as grief, discontentment, fear, selfishness, and the like. Each issue is handled carefully, biblically and with a view to overcoming that issue through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The new Gospel for Real Life booklet series is meant for counseling. The initial six titles look to issues like cutting, borderline personality, anxiety, and so on. Counselors will find them invaluable resources.

Gospel Treason is perhaps best described in this endorsement: “Brad has thought a lot about the insidiousness of idolatry in today’s culture. He has done a thorough job of showing us how modern day idols are both offensive to God and grace robbing to the believer. This book will cause you to consider your own heart in terms of what you really want and live for. It will also help you to minister to others who are suffering or caught in sin that hinders them from the freedom we have in the gospel.”

Five winners will receive all of those titles…

Giveaway Rules: You may only enter the draw once. Simply fill out your name and email address to enter the draw. As soon as the winners have been chosen, all names and addresses will be immediately and permanently erased. Winners will be notified by email. The giveaway closes Saturday at noon.

Good Book Guides

The missional direction of The Good Book Company directly applies to the purpose of their Good Book Guides:

  • apply what we have learned in depth, to ourselves, individually and as a church, so that we can work towards practical changes in all aspects of our lives.

The range of Bible study guides have authors such as Mark Dever, Tim Chester, and Justin Buzzard among many others. And, coming early 2013, Timothy Keller.

5 winners will be awarded complete sets; however, The Good Book Company is offering to double the amount of winners to 10 if they can achieve 2,000 “likes” on their Facebook page by next Friday.

Free Stuff Fridays
This week’s Free Stuff Fridays is sponsored by Kress Biblical Resources, a publisher that exists “ to provide solid, biblical resources for those who have set their hearts to study God’s Word, to practice it, and to teach it.” They are offering up five prize packages and each package will consist of the following books:

Pursuit of Prodigals is a helpful little book that serves as a short primer on the importance and practice of church discipline.

For nineteen hundred years, the Church practiced the discipline and restoration of prodigals, but in the last fifty years, it has been replaced by apathy, fear, and tolerance. This brief primer is prayerfully offered as an appeal to return to this distinctive, as well as to instruct and encourage shepherds who are textually bound and not so faint of heart. After all, should we not fear most the day of our accounting before the Chief Shepherd? In Pursuit of Prodigals was written as a call to faithful shepherds and for the edification of the Church.

Again, there are five prize packages to win, so you probably ought to go ahead and enter. If you would like to purchase In Pursuit of Prodigals, you can do so at 25% from Friday until Monday. Click here to take advantage.

Free Stuff Fridays
This week’s Free Stuff Fridays is sponsored by CBD Reformed, a name you know well by now. As they always do, they are offering 5 prize packages, each of which will consist of the following three products:

  • Jesus + Nothing = EverythingESV Value Thinline Bible - Retail price $14.99
  • Jesus + Nothing = Everything by Tullian Tchividjian - Retail Price $18.99
  • Trusting God — Even When Life Hurts by Jerry Bridges - Retail Price $14.99

You will recognize Jesus + Nothing = Everything as a winner of several awards. Here is the publisher’s description:

It’s so easy to forget what the Christian faith is all about. We struggle so much, work so hard, and fail so often that we frequently sense something in the equation of life must be missing. Tullian Tchividjian argues that what we are missing is the gospel—a fuller, more powerful understanding of Jesus and what his finished work means for everyday life.

During a year of great turmoil, Pastor Tchividjian discovered the power of the gospel in his own life. Sharing his story of how Jesus became more real to him, Tchividjian delves deeply into the fundamentals of the faith, explaining the implications of Christ’s sufficiency—a revelation that sets us free and keeps us anchored through life’s storms.

Ultimately, Tchividjian reminds us that Jesus is the whole of the equation as he boldly proclaims that Jesus plus nothing really is everything.

Free Stuff Fridays
This week’s Free Stuff Fridays is sponsored by Reformation Heritage Books, a name that ought to be familiar to you by now. And they are giving away a prize that proved pretty popular the last time they did a similar giveaway. They have 5 prize packages to win, and each package will consist of 8 Journibles.

JournibleWhat are Journibles? Well, they are what happens when you smash a Bible into a journal. “The idea comes from Deuteronomy 17:18, where God commands the kings of Israel to hand-write their own copy of the Torah, or book of the law. The purpose of this was so that they would carry it with them always, read it, learn from it, and lead the people accordingly. It’s interesting to note that 3400 years later, educators have been discovering that most people learn kinesthetically, by doing or writing things out for themselves. As you open the book, you will see chapter and verse numbers on the right-hand pages. These are conveniently spaced according to the length of each verse. However, these pre-formatted lines are left blank for you to hand-write your Journible book of yourself.”

It’s kind of a neat idea, really. As you read the Bible, you get to write it out on your own—a great way of enhancing understanding and retention, and you also get to take your own notes. Pretty cool, eh?

So far there are currently 15 in the series and the winners will each receive 8 of them.

If you want to get a better idea of the format, click here to see a sample page from Galatians. Or you can visit the official Journibles site.

Giveaway Rules: You may only enter the draw once. Simply fill out your name and email address to enter the draw. As soon as the winners have been chosen, all names and addresses will be immediately and permanently erased. Winners will be notified by email. The giveaway closes Saturday at noon.
