Free Stuff Fridays
This week’s Free Stuff Fridays is a little bit different from most in that there is not a single sponsor. Rather, this is a “grab bag” giveaway with items donated from several different sponsors. But what’s normal is that there are great prizes to win and there will be 5 winners. Each of the winners will receive:

  • Boys PassageThrough the Eyes of C.H. Spurgeon (courtesy of Stephen McCaskell). This is a great collection of quotes from Spurgeon. I wrote this blurb for it: “Read this book to generate thought and reflection. Read it to find the perfect quote for your book or sermon or blog post. Read it and I am certain you will be blessed.”
  • Boy’s Passage, Man’s Journey is a 5-part DVD set featuring Kirk Cameron and Brian Molitor. It includes the DVD and everything else you need. “In five engaging video conversations with father and actor, Kirk Cameron, Brian Molitor teaches how to create and implement a family plan, and more importantly, how to consistently live it and maintain it.”
  • Will You Be My Facebook Friend? by Tim Chester (courtesy of 10 of Those). “In just a few years, Facebook has gone from nothing to a major feature of modern life. There are over 500 million users, half of whom use it on any given day. There is much that is good about this…social networking brings many benefits…but what about the dangers? Image, identity, idolatry and self–promotion are just some of the challenges that social networking can present. Dr Tim Chester looks at these issues pastorally and biblically, in his usual clear and candid manner. He asks pertinent questions to help us tackle them head on.”
  • Cold Case Christianity by J. Warner Wallace comes courtesy of David C. Cook Publishing. You can read my review of this excellent new book right here.

Giveaway Rules: As soon as the winners have been chosen, all names and addresses will be immediately and permanently erased. Winners will be notified by email. The giveaway closes Saturday at noon.

Free Stuff Fridays
This week’s edition of Free Stuff Fridays is brought to you by Banner of Truth. They have 5 prize packages to give away this week. Each one of them will win a prize package that includes:

  • MacArthurJohn MacArthur: Servant of the Word and Flock by Iain Murray
  • Westminster Confession, Pocket Puritan edition
  • Baptist Confession, Pocket Puritan edition

The idea with these pocket sized confessions is that you can take them with you wherever you go. They can easily fit in your inside jacket pocket, or back pant pocket. The Banner’s great desire is to see men and women who study and love these great doctrinal truths, as they summarize Scripture. Hopefully, because of their small size, these confessions will be used more frequently by Christians, and their understanding of God will grow and lead them to praise. After all, theology should always lead to doxology. Sinclair Ferguson says: “This edition of the Confession of Faith is what our forefathers would have called a Vade Mecum—literally a ‘Go with me’—a book small enough to take anywhere, but substantial enough to be useful everywhere.”

As for Murray’s biography of John MacArthur, it is a good one. I reviewed it here.

Giveaway Rules: As soon as the winners have been chosen, all names and addresses will be immediately and permanently erased. Winners will be notified by email. The giveaway closes Saturday at noon.

Free Stuff Fridays
This week’s edition of Free Stuff Fridays is sponsored by Bethany House Publishers. They are giving away some pretty good prize packages that include an autographed copy of Al Mohler’s new book The Conviction to Lead, easily one of my favorite books of 2012. There will be five winners this week, and each of them will receive the following:

Here’s a short description of Mohler’s book:

Cultures and organizations do not change without strong leadership. While many leadership books focus on management or administration, the central focus of The Conviction to Lead is on changing minds.

Dr. Mohler was the driving force behind the transformation of Southern Seminary from a liberal institution of waning influence to a thriving evangelical seminary at the heart of the Southern Baptist Convention. Since then he has been one of the most prominent voices in evangelicalism, fighting for Christian principles and challenging secular culture.

Using his own experiences and examples from history, Dr. Mohler demonstrates that real leadership is a transferring of conviction to others, affecting their actions, motivations, intuition, and commitment. This practical guide walks the reader through what a leader needs to know, do, and be in order to affect change.

You can enter the giveaway through this form. (If you don’t see anything, try refreshing your browser)

Free Stuff Fridays
This week’s Free Stuff Friday is sponsored by NeuYear. NeuYear is a beautiful full-year wall calendar that I came across last year; I’ve had one on my wall ever since. It comes in two versions, uncoated (i.e. paper) and dry-erase and is double-sided, portait on one side and landscape on the other. I’m giving away 20 of them today and winners will be able to choose whichever version they prefer.

NeuYearHere are some of its best features:

  • It’s BIG. 27” x 39” - It shows you the whole year at once. You can layout your goals for the year, set future deadlines, and clearly see the passing of time. Also, it has bigger squares so you can write more.
  • NO GAPS. Unlike other calendars, this one has no space between months. The philosophy here is that the week is the currency we think in, so this calendar focuses on presenting 52 weeks, rather than 12 months.
  • It’s BEAUTIFUL. It combines functional features with brilliant aesthetics.
  • TWO IN ONE. Not only all this, but it’s 2 calendars in 1! It has a horizontal orientation that fits perfectly above your desk, or you can flip it over for a vertical orientation that fits perfectly on your door.

I’m testing a new giveaway format today—one that allows you to earn extra ballots by recommending the giveaway to others. If you don’t see it, refresh your browser. If that doesn’t work, check if you’ve got an ad blocker running. You may need to disable it.

Giveaway Rules: As soon as the winners have been chosen, all names and addresses will be immediately and permanently erased. Winners will be notified by email. The giveaway closes Saturday at noon.

Free Stuff Fridays
This week’s Free Stuff Friday is a little bit different. Today’s prize comes courtesy of Zondervan and is a complete set of the brand new Theologian Trading Cards. Yes, you heard that right—Theologian Trading Cards. You know there’s got to be someone on your Christmas list who is going to love these. I’ve got 5 sets to give away. Here’s a description:

Theologian Trading CardsPatterned after the all-American baseball card, Theologian Trading Cards provide essential information about the major teachers, leaders, and trouble-makers throughout the history of the Church. At a glance you will have access to information regarding 288 important figures in church history, including when and where they lived, their contribution to the church, and enduring significance.

Each figure has been placed on the roster of one of 15 “theological” or “historical” teams; this aids readers in discovering the practical, chronological, and theological connections between figures. Examples include the Orthodoxy Dodgers (heretics); St. James Padres (Church Fathers of the Patristic Era); and the Wittenberg Whistle-blowers (Early Reformers and later Lutheran Church).

Theologian Trading Cards are perfect for students taking a church history course who want a memorable study aid to help them retain important information about select individuals in the church, as well as non-students who just want to learn or want to begin a hobby of card collecting.

Giveaway Rules: You may only enter the draw once. Simply fill out your name and email address to enter the draw. As soon as the winners have been chosen, all names and addresses will be immediately and permanently erased. Winners will be notified by email. The giveaway closes Saturday at noon.
