We gather to look to God and praise Him for sending His Holy Spirit to all who are born again.

Call to Worship
“Shout for joy to God, all the earth; sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise!”
“Say to God, ‘How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you. All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.’” (Psalm 66:1–4)
This call to worship God comes from Psalm 66. This Psalm tells us to do something. And we had better do it! We are to say something to God. Did you catch that? Let's obey the command right now. Read these words out loud with me to the Lord, beginning with' "How awesome…"
“How awesome are your deeds!
So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you.
All the earth worships you
and sings praises to you;
they sing praises to your name.”Amen! Let's join the rest of the world in praising our King!

Read out loud with me these wonderful words from Romans 11.
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable are his judgments
and how inscrutable his ways!
“For who has known the mind of the Lord,
or who has been his counselor?”
“Or who has given a gift to him
that he might be repaid?”
For from him and through him and to him are all things.
To him be glory forever.
Amen.(Romans 11:33–36)

Silence & Meditation
We have begun this service by reading and singing great and amazing things about our God. Wouldn't it be awful if we had not really thought about those things so far? Please take a moment to sit in silence before God. You might pray. You might read over what we have sung. But, take a moment to settle your heart and seek the Lord.

Confession of Sin
Last week, Connery taught us from Psalm 51.
“Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment.” (Psalm 51:4)
Those of us who are Christians know that we have never made it through a single week, let alone a single day, without sinning against our God. Amen? So we are here today to, in part, admit that to God and seek His forgiveness. This forgiveness of sins He will indeed give to all who genuinely seek for it. Let's use the words of this next song to ask Him for it.

Assurance of Pardon
If you have confessed your sins to God, be assured of this, brother and sister: He has forgiven you in Christ.
“Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love. He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities underfoot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. You will show faithfulness to Jacob and steadfast love to Abraham, as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.” (Micah 7:18–20)

Complementary Reading
Listen as I read from the Bible this promise from Jesus of the coming Holy Spirit.
“Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.” (John 16:7–11)
This reading was from John 16.
