Call to Worship
“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods, for his steadfast love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords, for his steadfast love endures forever;” (Psalm 136:1–3)
This call to worship God comes from Psalm 136. This Psalm summons us to thank God. In particular, to thank Him for His "steadfast love;" His HESED, His loyal love that motivates Him stop keep His promises. Because of that love, He fulfilled His promise to send us a Saviour – Jesus Christ, our Lord. And it is by faith in His Name and His work alone… we are saved from our sins. Today, we glory in that simple Gospel. If we are Christians, that is because He fore-loved, predestined, called, justified and glorified us by His grace alone. Let's take this day to thank Him in song, Word and prayer!

Catechism & Confession of Faith
[Please read out loud with me this article from the Together for the Gospel Statement of Faith.] ARTICLE VIII of the Together for the Gospel Affirmations and Denials (2006) We affirm that salvation is all of grace, and that the Gospel is revealed to us in doctrines that most faithfully exalt God’s sovereign purpose to save sinners and in His determination to save his redeemed people by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, to His glory alone. We deny that any teaching, theological system, or means of presenting the Gospel that denies the centrality of God’s grace as His gift of unmerited favor to sinners in Christ can be considered true doctrine.

Thy Works Not Mine O Christ

Complementary Reading
Listen to the Word of God as I read of the essence of the Gospel.
“‘For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.’” (Titus 3:3–8)
This reading was from Titus 3.

Assurance of Pardon
Many years ago, when another group of God's saved people had repented from their sins, God sent words of comfort to them by the Prophet, Malachi.
“17] ‘They shall be mine, says the LORD of hosts, in the day when I make up my treasured possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him. Then once more you shall see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him.” (Malachi 3:16–18)
Brother, Sister – since your life is hidden in Christ with God, be assured that He has totally forgiven you of all of your sins. You are His and the object of His love. Serve Him now with your whole heart.
