May the Lord be with you and bless you today.

Westminster Books is having a huge sale, but it lasts just 72 hours. You’ll find over 400 titles deeply discounted.

Today’s Kindle deals include several books for parents or those who are in charge of children’s programs at church. There’s a top-notch Spurgeon biography on the list as well.

Keith Green: The Christian Singer Who Changed the Course of My Life

I appreciated this tribute to Keith Green. In his own way, he changed my life as well. There has never quite been anyone else like him.

Who Were the Anabaptists?

“2025 is a year of anniversaries. From the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed to the 80th anniversary of VE Day, there are many milestones to reflect on. Another one is the 500th anniversary of the founding of the Anabaptist movement—a chapter in Christian history that is not so well known.” Here’s a brief introduction.

Dear Pastor, Stay on the Line

“The preacher’s task is to ‘stay on the line.’ Another way of stating this is that the preacher must ‘tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.’ But the ever-present danger is that the preacher will come off the line by adding to or subtracting from what the biblical text says.” David Jackman provides a needed word for preachers.

Justin Welby and Incompatible Thick Communities

“There’s been a good mix of dust and flurry around the comments from the former Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, over the matter of same sex marriage, and its perceived good in the public square.” Stephen McAlpine explains.

Lulla-Bible?

Lynn Pratt considers whether it’s okay to listen to the Bible as you fall asleep.

The Solution for Church Decline Is Not Mega Church

Megachurches are not necessarily wrong, but they are also not the answer some people may think they are. “I should probably say here that I was ‘inside the belly of the beast’ of a mega church. I served on staff as a youth pastor, care pastor, and campus pastor. I have seen it from the inside with really good, faithful people, and I don’t think it’s the solution. Which is part of the reason why I’m not there anymore.”

Flashback: The Music Is Simply a Mockery

I have preached in churches where vast sums of money were employed to keep up the music, and it was as exquisite as any heard on earth, but I thought at the same time, for all matters practical, I would prefer the hearty, outbreaking song of a backwoods Methodist camp-meeting.

Completing the work He assigns us-joyful obedience to His will-is the way we glorify Him. Through obedience, we reflect the glory of the glorious One.

    The Suffering of a Child

It is always difficult to understand the ways of God. Impossible, even. This is never more obviously true than when we witness the suffering of a child. Many people would attest that few things pose a deeper challenge to their faith than to see a child suffering, especially if the affliction is terminal.

Do You Board First or Last?

There are some travelers who like to board an airplane at the earliest possible moment. There are others who prefer to board at the last. Some rush the gate the very second the gate agents announce that boarding has commenced, while some linger until they have sounded the final call.
