A New Brother

And that’s that.

We left the house bright and early this morning and just got home about 12 hours later. Sometime around 1:30 I finally got the little brother I’ve been waiting for all these years. God blessed me with three little sisters but to this time I have not had a little brother. Today I gained one. Sure he’s 22 years old, but at this point I’ve got to take what I can get!

The wedding was short, dignified and very nice. The reception was at a historical building where apparently the guy who coined the phrase “the road to hell is paved with good intentions” once lived. There’s an interesting fact I guarantee you you’ll never think about again!

Now I had to wear a rather spiffy Tommy Hilfiger tuxedo that set me back $150+ just for the day. I may even post a picture or two of myself here in the next couple of days.

One interesting little thing: I met two or three people today who told me they read this site. It still surprises me to learn that *real* people read this site. Generally I seem to think it’s only cyber-people or something – people I will only ever relate to over the Internet. But lo and behold, sometimes I meet them and I always enjoy that, though I’ll admit it does make me uncomfortable for some strange reason.

And now that it’s all over, we are going to head home. We will be up with the sun tomorrow and hoping to make it home while it’s still Sunday. If you are reading this on Sunday, chances are we are driving at this very moment. So if you’d whisper a quick prayer on our behalf for travelling mercies we’d sure appreciate it!

God bless!

It fascinates me how the most beautiful thing can also be the most offensive thing. The world knows nothing more beautiful than grace, than favor that is undeserved, unmerited, and freely granted. Yet so often the world responds to grace with spite and anger, with revulsion and unbelief.
