Edwards App – “The Jonathan Edwards Center at Yale University is pleased to announce the official Works of Jonathan Edwards Online iOS App. Now you can easily access and share the works of Jonathan Edwards from your mobile device.”

What Happened at Vatican II? – The Desiring God blog looks at Vatican II, what it changed and didn’t change, and how we should pray fifty years later.

Criminal Evangelical Silence – Conrad Mbewe: “We all know that the dark ages are upon us again here in Africa. It is almost like a dark blanket that is slowly surrounding the land. People who know absolutely nothing of the core values of evangelical Christianity—the new birth, repentance and saving faith, justification and holiness, etc.—have hijacked evangelical Christianity in Africa.”

Weddings – I always enjoy The Big Picture’s photo galleries. This week they’ve got one on weddings, domestic and international, traditional and decidedly untraditional.

Legalizing Polygamy – From Gene Veith: “Now that gay marriage is legal in many jurisdictions and broadly accepted, activists are taking up the cause of polygamy. The liberal Washington Post religion columnist Lisa Miller is sympathetic.” This is definitely a coming battleground.

Watch Out for Loudmouths – “Over the years I’ve run into many people who love and embrace the Reformed faith. Everyone’s story is a bit different—some found out about the Reformed faith through books, others through ministries, such as Ligonier or the White Horse Inn, and still yet others have grown up in the Reformed church. One of the classes of people I avoid, however, is the loudmouth. As a pastor I’ve found that there are usually at least two types of people: people who quietly serve and others who tell you all about what they know.”

Joy is not necessarily the absence of suffering, it is the presence of God.
