What Does It Mean to Fear God? – R.C. Sproul answers. “If we really have a healthy adoration for God, we still should have an element of the knowledge that God can be frightening. ‘It is a frightening thing to fall into the hands of the living God’ (Heb. 10:31). As sinful people, we have every reason to fear God’s judgment; it is part of our motivation to be reconciled with God.”

The Cosmological Argument – This video would make a great conversation starter.

Just Call Me – “I have often told people to just call me when they are tempted to some terrible sin, thinking that if we could just talk at that moment I could help them choose wisely. That always sounds good. But I don’t think it typically works.” Indeed. It should work, but it is not consistent with the way sin operates.

Stay Away from This Book – Westminster Books has some pretty good new books on sale.

Child Brides – “Every day, more than 25,000 girls under the age of 18 are married worldwide, human rights groups estimate. For many child brides, a future of poverty, exploitation, and poor health awaits. Here are nine things you should know about a practice that is harming girls around the globe.”

Thick Skin, Thin Skin – This is a good read for pastors, and especially lead or senior pastors. “In the pastorate you have to master the seemingly impossible art of having, at the same time, thick and thin skin. How can you possibly pull off such a feat? And why would such a chameleon-like skill even be desirable?”

Every Noise at Once – This is pretty interesting–a map of just about every kind of music with samples of each.

Knowing vs Feeling in Worship – Alistair Begg is both hilarious and profound here.

If Jesus Christ be God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him.

How Donald Trump Upended Canadian Politics and Helped the Liberals Win

On April 28, Canadians elected the Liberal Party of Canada to a fourth consecutive term. • When God Plants an Acorn

When God Plants an Acorn, He Means an Oak

We stood together on the crest of a hill, a gentle breeze rustling the meadow around our feet. The fields ran gently downward until they met a creek that gurgled happily in its course. A few years prior, an acorn had somehow made its way to the highest point of this hill, carelessly dropped there…
