If You’re at CROSS Conference (Or Wish You Were)

Rise with the Sun

Toward the end of the day today, The Worship Initiative will teach CityAlight’s “Rise with the Sun” to the 12,000 people who are attending CROSS Conference. I’m excited to be there, to introduce it, and then to hear it!

“Rise with the Sun” is based on From the Rising of the Sun, a book and documentary I created with Tim Keesee. If you are one of the young adults attending CROSS, or if you are in that demographic but were unable to attend, I want to make the 12-episode documentary available to you for free. It was filmed in 12 countries and allows you to experience worship in each of them. It allows you to join with churches whose worship is consistent with Scripture but whose practice of that worship is faithful to the local language, customs, and culture. It allows you to imagine how you might worship God Sunday by Sunday had the Lord put you in the Pacific Islands, rural Cambodia, urban Morocco, or the far reaches of Alaska.

CROSS is built for 18-25 year olds and their leaders, so if that’s you, or close enough to you, feel free to take advantage. To download it for free, visit https://bit.ly/fromtherisingofthsun and use the code CROSS100. (Note: This is on the honor system, so please only download it if you are roughly 18-25 or serve as a leader to that age range.)

I would, of course, also recommend reading the book. You can buy it wherever good books are sold, such as Amazon, Westminster Books, or if you’re at the conference, from the bookstore (where it’s on a table labeled “Best of the Rest.”)

Please note there is a limit of 1,000 downloads, so I apologize in advance if you find yourself unable to download it.
