Teach Your Children About God’s Great Big Global Church

Gods Great Big Global Church

My new book releases today, and I would love it if you’d buy a copy for the children in your life! God’s Great Big Global Church, a beautifully illustrated picture book, will introduce them to 10 kids and their churches from all around the world.

Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of visiting many different churches in many different countries. In fact, I have been able to worship in a host of churches that span every one of the inhabited continents. I long for children to be able to experience some of the wonder of worshipping in contexts and cultures that are different from their own. I’m thankful, then, that they can now do so through God’s Great Big Global Church. It’s available at Amazon, Westminster Books, and wherever else good books are sold. (Note: The Spanish edition, La gran iglesia global, is available at Poiema and will be on Amazon before long, at this link.)

Not only is there a beautiful book for them to enjoy, but parents or teachers can also get free downloadable bonus resources that can assist them to better understand and apply the book, allow their kids to think about how their own church is special, help them create a fun little passport, and so on. The wonderful world map is there as well.

Here is how the publisher describes God’s Great Big Global Church

Take kids on an exciting adventure exploring the global church!

Kids will gain enthusiasm for going to church on Sundays as they discover that they and their local fellowship are part of something much bigger: a family of people worshiping God all around the world!

Join Tim Challies as he guides you on this illustrated journey through 10 countries. Your children will be delighted to meet fictionalized kids just like themselves as they discover…

  • Fascinating facts about life in each location
  • Fun stories about how life, worship and church community are different all around the world
  • A connected Bible passage about worship

Each positive, eye-opening visit to another country is based on Challies’ own travel experience and conversations with local church leaders.

While this project is not formally related to my projects Epic or From the Rising of the Sun, it complements them well. In fact, you can actually see many of these churches in the 12-part documentary that comes free with From the Rising of the Sun.
