    Call to Worship

“Shout for joy to God, all the earth; sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise! Say to God, ‘How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you. All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.’” (Psalm 66)

This call to worship God comes from Psalm 66. In it we are told to say something to God. Did you catch what that is? We are to tell God that his deeds – that the things he has done – are awesome. We're actually to glory in – to revel in – His awesome works. The psalm then continues to talk about God's mighty work in making a way for his people through the Red Sea. But today, we praise God for his mighty work in making a way for us through Christ. So let's obey this call and praise God for his awesome works together in our first song, "To God be the Glory".

    Complementary Reading

Listen to this Old Testament prophesy that points forward to our bodily resurrection.

“So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. 8 And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them. 9 Then he said to me, ‘Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.’ 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.” (Ezekiel 37:7–10)

This reading was from Ezekiel 37; and we can be sure of the bodily resurrection this text points towards because Christ himself rose from the dead. Let's sing of Christ's resurrection and of what it means for us together".

    Confession of Sin

Brothers and sisters, listen to these words from Romans 6:

"What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? 3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Brother, sister, have you been walking in newness of life this week? Have you been doing so perfectly?

    Assurance of Pardon

Brothers and sisters, if you have honestly confessed your sins to the LORD and repented from them, take great comfort in this promise from God:

"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus".

    Let's sing of Christ together!
