All the Free and Discounted Stuff for these Difficult Times

Difficult times often provoke special generosity. That has proven the case with many Christian ministries and businesses in these difficult and uncertain days. Here is some of the free or discounted material that has been made available. (Feel free to leave a Facebook comment if you know of material I’ve missed and I’ll update accordingly.)

The new animated version of The Pilgrim’s Progress is free for the viewing.

Is Genesis History?

The film Is Genesis History? is now free to view online.

Ligonier Ministries

Ligonier Ministries has opened up their collection of teaching series, which represents something like 2,500 lectures. They’ve also added 20+ teaching series to Amazon Prime and unlocked the group study feature at Ligonier Connect so you can take courses with others.

Zondervan

Zondervan is offering two weeks to explore their MasterLectures series for free. Then, if you use code TIMCHALLIES you’ll get 50% off the first three months. I have put together a list of courses I recommend. My family is currently watching Greg Koukl’s The Story of Reality and enjoying it.

Truth:78

Truth:78 has resources to help with family discipleship.

Logos

Logos is offering free access to some of their resources and courses, plus a free Faithlife Connect subscription (which allows you to watch films, documentaries, etc).

Lifeway

Lifeway is offering free digital curriculum for many of their most popular products, including The Gospel Project, which we use at our church (click here to see why we use it).

Crossway

Crossway is offering free access to their ESV.org basic subscription plan to all users through May 31, 2020. This gives access to study Bibles and other solid resources. They’ve also good a handful of free ebooks.

Boyce College

Boyce College is offering expanded dual enrollment offerings for a reduced price. Courses begin March 31, April 6, and April 13 and cover a wide variety of subjects. (Also see this news release.)

Westminster Books

Westminster Books is offering Read Slow, which is a free download and provides encouragement to read books in a day of anxious headlines.

The Good Book Company

The Good Book Company has a bunch of deals: books for tough times, storybooks and activity books, expositional guides, and small group guides.

Adventures in Odyssey

Adventures in Odyssey is offering a free 4-week trial.

Audible

Audible has opened up Audible Stories for free. There are lots of classic and contemporary works there.

Simeon Trust

Simeon Trust has reduced the cost of their courses from $19 to $9.

Dwell

The Dwell Bible app is free for 60 days.

Redeem TV

Redeem TV has launched a beta of their software with lots of free shows and movies.
