This morning, just for one session, I’m going to try something different. This is a piece of software called CoverItLive and its made specifically for live-blogging. I thought I’d give it a shot.

I am a follower of Jesus Christ, a husband to Aileen and a father to three young children. I worship and serve as a pastor at

It’s a shame it’s not in your RSS feed.
I really enjoyed browsing through that application. I think it’s a good addition to what you’ve been doing.
I’ve not read all of your posts so you may have addressed this before. If so, please excuse the repetition.
I’ve always enjoyed the singing at a men’s meeting. There is something exceptional about the combined voices of a group of men singing praises. I’ve never heard an exclusive group of women singing together. How do the two compare?
We use the bsafe internet filter. It doesn’t allow the cover it live. I know, I know, I can change my settings. Too tedious. Just moving on.Sue
That software’s a brilliant addition, Tim. I missed the live updates, but even just reading through it afterwards allowed for more of the conference feel - you get a taste of the personality of the speaker (and of the audience!) rather than just reading through a series of sermon outlines. Keep using it, I say!

I don’t wish to be uncharitable or divisive or anything, but I think I prefer 6000 men’s voices to 6000 women’s! I wrote earlier about how you can “feel” it when so many men lift their voices together. A woman beside me the other day whispered “when so many women sing together we sound like a bunch of chipmunks.” That’s overstating it, but I do think there is something awfully powerful above so many men singing together.
It’s all in Latin on my computer! And while I am studying Latin I can only understand a word or two here and there.
