What the Prosperity Gospel Does to the Gospel – If you read this site you’re probably convinced that the prosperity gospel is unbiblical. This short article takes a look at how the prosperity gospel distorts the true gospel.

There Was No Golden Age – Marc Cortez: “I often ask my students to give me a quick summary of church history. It’s a good way to see what they know, and, more importantly, what they think they know. The results are fascinating. Beyond the unsurprising fact that most know very little about the story of God’s people between the end of the New Testament and the day before yesterday, the stories usually have at least one thing in common: a Golden Age.”

Billions – Adam Young (a.k.a. Owl City) recently set some music to a John Piper sermon. This is notable largely because Young has a massive platform as a guy who sells millions of albums primarily to a young demographic.

New Churches Should Sing Old Songs – Stephen Miller gives reasons that new churches ought to sing old songs. “Pastoral and theological giants of the past went to pain-staking lengths to pen doctrinally rich, gospel-centered songs with the intention of shaping the people under their care. They poetically developed their thoughts to tell stories that would most memorably engage the intellects and emotions of the people who would be singing them. As a result, many of these songs became gems that have withstood the crucible of time.”

Backyards Are Overrated – This article from USA Today shows that people purchase homes for the yards, but then stay inside and watch television or use the computer.

An Astronaut’s Camera – Here is what an astronaut’s camera sees when he is on the International Space Station.

We must wrestle earnestly in prayer, like men contending with a deadly enemy for life.

An Ideal Resource For Your Family Devotions

There is a lot I miss from the days when our children were young. High on the list is family devotions. Nick once described our family as having a “Spartan-like commitment” to them, though I remember as much failure as success and as many misses as hits. Still, there’s no doubt that over the 26…
