Free Stuff Fridays

In the back of my mind I can almost hear that Monty Python guy saying, “And now for something completely different.” This week’s Free Stuff Friday giveaway is definitely a little bit different. The sponsor is 1031 Sermon Jams. 10:31 Sermon Jams was made to bring sermons and music together. They were created to bring life changing truth, and the good news of Jesus Christ to the current culture. According to their web site, they are “Bryan and Caleb, and our mission is to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to all people. This ministry is based on 1 Corinthians 10:31, ‘So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.’ Our main focus is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to make His name famous. Our goal is to take biblically saturated sermons and turn them into mini clips for edification for the household of faith and tracts to unbelievers.” In the past they have combined music with the sermons of pastors such as C.J. Mahaney, Joshua Harris, John Piper and others.

Dont Waste Your Life

Their newest album is called Don’t Waste Your Life and it has been produced in partnership with Desiring God. Needless to say, this album features John Piper preaching on this theme of not wasting your life. You can hear a track from the album at the 1031 Sermon site.

Five winners will receive a copy of the album along with a 1031 Sermon Jams T-Shirt.

Rules: You may only enter the draw once. Simply fill out your name and email address to enter the draw. As soon as the winners have been chosen, all names and addresses will be immediately and permanently erased. Winners will be notified by email. The giveaway closes Saturday at 10 AM.

    The Path to Contentment

I wonder if you have ever considered that the solution to discontentment almost always seems to be more. If I only had more money I would be content. It Begins and Ends with Speaking

Part of the joy of reading biography is having the opportunity to learn about a person who lived before us. An exceptional biography makes us feel as if we have actually come to know its subject, so that we rejoice in that person’s triumphs, grieve over his failures, and weep at his death.

  • The Anxious Generation

    The Great Rewiring of Childhood

I know I’m getting old and all that, and I’m aware this means that I’ll be tempted to look unfavorably at people who are younger than myself. I know I’ll be tempted to consider what people were like when I was young and to stand in judgment of what people are like today. Yet even…
