Free Stuff Fridays (Is Genesis History?)

This week’s Free Stuff Friday is sponsored by Is Genesis History? who also sponsored the blog this week. Five ‘Complete Creation Bundles & Conference Sets’ are being given away with over 150 videos in each.

A lot of people watch our film Is Genesis History? and are amazed at how many areas of science and scholarship support the history recorded in Genesis. But it’s a lot to take in at one sitting. Many people end up with more questions than they started with, primarily because they were introduced to so many new topics.

We actually intended that. The documentary film is just an introduction to the incredible world of creation science. To truly understand the science behind Genesis, however, we created a complete series of products that dig much deeper into all the areas introduced in the film.

THE BIBLE STUDY SET

This study complements the film Is Genesis History? by looking at six key doctrines introduced in the first chapters of Genesis. These doctrines are related to the gospel and are important to understanding the nature of our salvation.

After all, Genesis records the foundational events in the history of the world. Jesus Himself was there at the beginning, forming everything according to His purpose. As the Apostle John tells us, “All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.” (John 1:3)

Genesis is therefore central to the work of Jesus Christ. Our hope is that by the end of this study you will better understand how the first chapters of Genesis are related to His plan of salvation.

An overview of sample lessons can be found here.

BEYOND IS GENESIS HISTORY?

We filmed 16 scientists in over 20 locations from June 2016 to June 2017. As a result, we ended up with over 30 hours of incredible footage that we had to cut down into a 110-minute film.

But we were left with a lot of amazing evidence. We spent the next year creating our “Beyond” series of videos, ending up with 48 shorter videos (about 20 min each, over 15 hours total) that go much deeper into all the subjects that were discussed in the film – plus a lot more.

Beyond Is Genesis History? Vol 1: Rocks & Fossils explores the fields of geology, paleontology, and atmospheric science. Beyond Is Genesis History? Vol 2. Life & Design provides an overview of the structures and systems found throughout creation and explores the fields of biology, genetics, and intelligent design. Beyond Is Genesis History? Vol 3: Bible & Stars explores the fields of Archeology, Astronomy, Biblical Studies, Culture, and Theology. Learn much more about the stars, the moon, the tower of Babel, the Hebrew text, and the history of interpretation of Genesis from this final installment.

When seen together, the “Beyond” series plus the Bible Study provide a comprehensive view of the scholarship and science behind a historical Genesis.

An overview of all the videos can be found here.

IGH CONFERENCE ON THE CREATION-FLOOD MODEL

In the summer of 2017, we invited seven of the scientists and scholars from the film to give a series of technical lectures on the topics covered in the film (and much more). We filmed everything, and at the end of the week, we had over 70 hours of new material. Dr. Kurt Wise observed that this was likely the most comprehensive set of creation lectures produced to date.

The scientists involved include Dr. Kurt Wise (Paleontology), Dr. Steve Austin (Geology), Dr. Andrew Snelling (Geology), Dr. Todd Wodd (Biology), Dr. Joe Deweese (Biochemistry), Dr. Danny Faulkner (Astronomy), Dr. Doug Petrovich (Archeology), Dr. Steve Boyd (Hebrew). Dr. Del Tackett is included, too.

Full list of lectures can be found here.

COMPLETE CREATION BUNDLE + CONFERENCE

Maybe We Make Meditation Too Difficult

Of all the Christian disciplines, it is my guess that meditation may be the least practiced—though I suppose fasting might have something to say about that. Most people diligently make time to read the Bible and pray. And yet, while most people have good intentions when it comes to meditation, it so often seems to…
