Call to Worship
“Oh sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth! Sing to the LORD, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods.” (Psalm 96:1–4)
This call to worship God comes from Psalm 96. Here the Lord calls on His people to praise Him for the great salvation He has accomplished on their behalf. Let's do this now by singing to one another of the grace that undergirds all of His saving work. After we sing Amazing Grace, we will sing a hymn that helps us remember what it cost the Lord to save us.

Psalm 40 Testimonies of Grace
David wrote this of his desire to tell everyone of God's grace to him.
“I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly; see, I do not keep my mouth closed — as You know, Lord. I did not hide Your righteousness in my heart; I spoke about Your faithfulness and salvation; I did not conceal Your constant love and truth from the great assembly.” (Psalm 40:9–10)
It is the joy of the Christian to tell others of what God has done for them. Let’s hear from four of our members, as they summarize how God declared them righteous in Christ.
4 Members each share their testimony in four sentences each.
Here is who I was in sin.
Here is how God intervened.
Here is how I believed.
Here is how He has kept me.Song

Catechism & Confession of Faith
Please read out loud with me the words of this creed translated into English, but first written in the early fourth century. The Creed of Caesarea* We believe in one God, the Father All-sovereign, the maker of things visible and invisible; And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Word of God, God of God, Light of Light, Life of Life, Son only-begotten, Firstborn of all creation, begotten of the Father before all the ages, through whom also all things were made; who was made flesh for our salvation and lived among men, and suffered, and rose again on the third day, and ascended to the Father, and shall come again in glory to judge the living and the dead; We believe also in one Holy Spirit.
*This was the creed used by the church of Eusebius of Caesarea (Israel). He brought it with him and suggested its use at the council of Nicea (western Turkey), convened by Emperor Constantine in AD 325. It formed the basis of what came to be called the Nicene Creed.

Catechism & Confession of Faith
Last week, Pastor Paul made it clear that there is no hope in doing good works to earn your salvation. This week, our catechism affirms the same. [Read Q and A once, then read Q and have congregation read A.]
Question 33
Q. Should those who have faith in Christ seek their salvation through their own works, or anywhere else?A. No, everything necessary to salvation is found in Christ.

Listen to the Word of God as the Lord teaches his prophet where to put his confidence while he tells others the truth.
“Now the word of the LORD came to [Jeremiah], saying, ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.’”
“Then [Jeremiah] said, ‘Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.’ But the LORD said to [him], ‘Do not say, “I am only a youth”; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the LORD.’”
“Then the LORD put out his hand and touched [his] mouth. And the LORD said to [him], ‘Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.’” (Jeremiah 1:4–9)
This reading was from Jeremiah 1.
