We gather to thank God for His uninterrupted faithfulness to his people.

Call to Worship
I will call us to worship God today from Psalm 66. In this particular call, there is something for you to say in response, so please read along as I begin, then respond at the part marked, Congregation:
Leader
“Shout for joy to God, all the earth; sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise! Say to God,”
Congregation
“‘How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you. All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.’”
Leader
“Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man. He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the river on foot. There did we rejoice in him, who rules by his might forever, whose eyes keep watch on the nations— let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Bless our God, O peoples; let the sound of his praise be heard, who has kept our soul among the living and has not let our feet slip.” (Psalm 66:1–9)
The God of our salvation is calling on us to bless Him. Let’s ask for His help to do this very thing.

Corporate Reading
Please read Psalm 129 out loud with me. This Psalm reminds us of where to put out trust, even when it seems like the Lord has turned His back on His people. I will read the parts marked Leader. You read the parts marked Congregation.
Leader
“‘Greatly have they afflicted me from my youth’— let Israel now say—”
Congregation
“‘Greatly have they afflicted me from my youth, yet they have not prevailed against me. The plowers plowed upon my back; they made long their furrows.’”
Leader
“The LORD is righteous; he has cut the cords of the wicked. May all who hate Zion be put to shame and turned backward!”
Congregation
“Let them be like the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up, with which the reaper does not fill his hand nor the binder of sheaves his arms, nor do those who pass by say, ‘The blessing of the LORD be upon you! We bless you in the name of the LORD!’” (Psalm 129:1–8)

Silence & Meditation
It is good and right for us to pause our lives and take stock of who we are and who God is. We will do that now by carefully thinking over the verse printed for you in your songsheet. Please remain in silence, but think over this verse, your life and your God and spend some time in personal prayer and fellowship with Him.
“Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul. I cried to him with my mouth, and high praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me!” (Psalm 66:16–20)

Listen as I read of God's faithfulness to the true Israel, as recorded by the prophet, Isaiah.
“I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am,’ to a nation that was not called by my name. I spread out my hands all the day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own devices; a people who provoke me to my face continually, sacrificing in gardens and making offerings on bricks;”
“I will destine you to the sword, and all of you shall bow down to the slaughter, because, when I called, you did not answer; when I spoke, you did not listen, but you did what was evil in my eyes and chose what I did not delight in.’”
“Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: ‘Behold, my servants shall eat, but you shall be hungry; behold, my servants shall drink, but you shall be thirsty; behold, my servants shall rejoice, but you shall be put to shame;”
“‘For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem to be a joy, and her people to be a gladness. I will rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in my people; no more shall be heard in it the sound of weeping and the cry of distress.” (Isaiah 65)
This reading was from Isaiah 65.
