Free Stuff Fridays
This week’s sponsor of Free Stuff Fridays is Brian Croft (yes, an individual rather than a company or ministry; that’s allowed, you know). Brian is Senior Pastor of Auburndale Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky, he blogs at practicalshepherding.com (pretty much a must-read site for pastors) and is the author of 4 books (so far), though I’m sure he has several others in the works. He is giving away 5 prizes, each of which will contain all 4 of those books.

Most of Brian’s books–3 out of the 4–are geared toward pastors which means that this may be a prize you are hoping to win on behalf of your pastor. And that’s well and good. Here they are:

  • Visit the Sick: Ministering God’s Grace in Times of Illness
  • Test, Train, Affirm & Send into Ministry: Recovering the Local Church’s Responsibility in the External Call
  • Help! He’s Struggling with Pornography
  • Conduct Gospel-centered Funerals: Applying the Gospel at the Unique Challenges of Death

And I guess that’s what you need to know. Again, there are 5 prizes in total, so go ahead and sign up and just maybe one of those prize packs can be yours.

Giveaway Rules: You may only enter the draw once. Simply fill out your name and email address to enter the draw. As soon as the winners have been chosen, all names and addresses will be immediately and permanently erased. Winners will be notified by email. The giveaway closes Saturday at noon.

Note: If you are reading via RSS or email, you may need to click through to see the form.

You Can Conform to Christ Even if You Don’t Conform to Me

One of the aspects of the Christian faith that I find particularly perplexing is the freedom God gives his people to obey him in different or even opposite ways, so that one person’s obedience is another person’s disobedience. Even as two people take the same action, one might be obeying him and the other disobeying…
