    Call to Worship

“Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually! Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered…” (Psalm 105:1–5)

This call to worship the God of miracles, judgments and wondrous works, comes from Psalm 105.

“You will say in that day:”

    Congregation

“‘I will give thanks to you, O LORD, for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, that you might comfort me. ‘Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.’”

    Leader

“With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. And you will say in that day:”

    Congregation

“‘Give thanks to the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted. ‘Sing praises to the LORD, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth. Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.’” (Isaiah 12)

    Confession of Sin

Please pray along with as I pray and confess our sins on our behalf…

    Prayer of Confession
Adapted from Daniel’s prayer of confession in Daniel 9:4–19

O Lord, the great and awesome God,
who keeps covenant and steadfast love
with those who love him and keep his commandments.

We have sinned and done wrong,
we have acted wickedly and rebelled,
turning aside from your commandments and rules.
We have not listened to your Word.

To you, O Lord, belongs righteousness,
but to us open shame…because we have sinned against you.
To you, O Lord our God, belong mercy and forgiveness,
for we have rebelled against You
and have not obeyed Your voice by walking in Your commandments.

O Lord, according to all your righteous acts,
let your anger and your wrath turn away from us.

For your own sake, O Lord, make your face to shine upon us.
O our God, incline your ear and hear.
Open your eyes and see our brokenness and shame.
For we do not present our pleas before you because of our righteousness,
but because of your great mercy.
    O Lord, hear;
    O Lord, forgive.
O Lord, pay attention and act.
Delay not, for your own sake, O God,
because we, your people, are called by your name.

    AMEN

    Assurance of Pardon

Brothers and Sisters who are in Christ, be assured… 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If you have prayed and asked His forgiveness. you can be certain He has taken your sins and cast them behind His back. Praise the Lord.
